Kitty: Yeah, I love that smell, too.  Of course, with beech, the leaf litter would be a year old, so I may be stretching things a bit — all the beeches I’ve ever seen hold their leaves quite late in the year.  Again, though, it’s my story.  :-)

UMG I love that smell.  It’s the smell of fall, and I just sat here and had a full-on sensory hallucination, complete with the sound of skirling leaves. 

This probably means that it’s 5 AM and sleep deprived >.>
