The End?

Hi all,

Well, it’s been a year, and I think I have to admit to myself, and to all of you, that I’m totally blocked on Winter Rain, and that it doesn’t look to be changing. At this point, I don’t honestly know that I will ever finish it. This saddens me, but, unfortunately, it’s the way it is for now.

Anna and I have been talking about ways of getting me unblocked, and, with her help, I’m going to try to get back to writing with some flash fiction and shorts. As to whether that will help resolve my issues with Winter Rain . . . only time will tell.

I want to thank all of you who’ve read Winter Rain for your support over the 18 months I did post. I really enjoyed writing the story, and hearing your thoughts and comments on things. I’m sorry I’ve let you down, in the end.

Chris.

well the best scenario is that you continue to write. doesn’t really matter what happens with individual stories as long as that stays consistent. good luck. :) hope to read some more of this story or these characters in the future.

I’m sorry to hear that it ends here, but thank you so much for writing and sharing.  Be well, be happy.

I don’t think you’ve let me down, because even if you didn’t manage to finish the story , I did enjoy reading what is up of Winter Rain. Heck, I read it before I knew you personally and it was an inspiration for my own foray into the online fiction world!!

What I — and others here I’m sure — want is more of YOUR writing. Whether that be WR or a tale with ice cream eating penguins doesn’t matter.

And, I solemly promise to “help” coughbullycough you back on to the writing track. >:-D

Well Chris it’s sad to see this but I have to say I’m not surprised.
When you get blocked it’s hard to get back into the story and write solidly.
Hoping whatever you work on next helps you remove the horrible mental block.
Props to Anna for the help! =D

Don’t close the door completely. I was very, very blocked on the rewrite of the History (and it’s a serious rewrite) until I started Scryer’s Gulch. It really shook things loose. Take a break. Put it in a drawer and make it think about what it’s done. You may come back to it; you never know. :)

  6. Thanks, everyone, for your comments and support.  I think writing other stuff for a while will be good for me — and, who knows, maybe it will help me get on with Winter Rain, eventually, too.  :-)

Thank you for sharing the story with us and please do stop being so hard on yourself – you do not deserve it.

I am positive that you will return to Winter Rain one day – those characters are bound to haunt you :)

._. doh. I was hoping my suspicions were wrong, but it seems not.

Don’t forget to link us to your other bits of fiction! Just because one (when you look at it, pretty massive) project is tucked away, doesn’t mean you should stop writing altogether. Worst I can do to them is point out typos anyway. =p

  9. All the new stuff is happening in here: Random Dreams.  Only one new story, so far, but there’s another due tomorrow.  :-)
